Sign in, set up your emails and follow your first repository.
Click Sign in and authorize Open Source Guru on GitHub. It's the only way to sign in: contributing to GitHub projects needs a GitHub account anyway. No account yet? Create one on GitHub.
We only ask for your email addresses (read-only). Everything else we use is public.
The first time you sign in, a short setup asks for:
/u/<your login>; you can turn it off right there.
See Public profile.Notifications go to your primary GitHub email address. You can add other addresses later.
Type a repository (owner/name or its GitHub URL) and pick labels from the list. Each label shows
how many open issues have it. Then choose how often you want emails:
| Frequency | You get |
|---|---|
| Right away | An email within a few minutes of a match |
| Hourly | One email per hour with everything that matched |
| Daily | One email per day, at the hour you chose |
Tried the form on the home page before signing in? Your repository and labels are kept, and the subscription is ready when you arrive.
Your dashboard lists every issue that matched your subscriptions, newest first. For each one you see its labels and whether it's not assigned yet, assigned to someone, or closed.
Only issues detected after you subscribed show up: following a repository doesn't replay its past issues. See How it works.
While you set things up, we fetch your Open Source Contributions from GitHub. Your Contributions page shows them, with your streak; set goals to keep going.
